On Monday, March 8, the Conway City Council voted to award a construction contract to Dargan Construction of Myrtle Beach, SC to build the much anticipated Recreation Center. The 60,000 square foot facility will be built at the site of the Recreation Complex, located at 1515 Mill pond Road. Facility amenities include:
3 multi-purpose meeting rooms
Catering kitchen
Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices
Weight room
Cardio/Fitness room
Aerobics room
Health screening room
2 gymnasiums
3 lane walking track
Shower facilities
5 lane swimming pool with 0' depth entry play area
The groundbreaking was held in May of 2010. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of July. The facility is scheduled to open in September 2011.

COLLINS' KIDS DAVID BENNETT FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE CONWAY RECREATION CENTER
The City of Conway is pleased to announce that the Collins Kids David Bennett Foundation has donated $125,00 for the naming rights of the gymnasium at the new Conway Recreation Center. The Gym space will be named Collins' Kids Court 1 and Collins' Kids Court 2. The presentation was made at the March 28, 2011 Conway City Council Meeting.
When the facility is open, the Collin's Kids logo will be featured on the center court of both gym floors.
The City of Conway is greatful for the support of the Collins' Kids David Bennett Foundation and looks forward to working with the foundation.
